The fifth Royal Trophy between Europe and Asia will be held at Black Mountain Golf Club in Hua Hin from Jan 7-9, organisers said yesterday.
"The Royal Trophy is developing into one of the world's great sporting competitions and I hope it continues to grow for many years to come," said five-time Major champion Seve Ballesteros who created the event.
"I am confident that Black Mountain Golf Club will be a great host for the fifth edition of the championship and that the European and Asian teams will deliver spectacular golf and a great match."
Located in the outskirts of the old-charmed coastal resort town of Hua Hin, Black Mountain Golf Club's attractive championship golf course is set amongst huge valleys surrounded by jutting mountain ranges.
Featuring masterfully crafted fairways and greens, the Black Mountain layout promises to provide a serious challenge to the European and Asian golf elite.
The previous four editions were held at Amata Spring Country Club in Chon Buri.
The Ryder Cup-style competition features eight players each from teams of Europe and Asia.
The winners get stewardship of the solid-silver trohpy donated by His Majesty the King.
