River Kwai 2-Days Tour from Hua Hin

Day 1:
Early pick up at hotel in Hua Hin or Bangkok guide and transfer to Kanchanaburi and the world famous Bridge over the River Kwae built during World War II by the prisoners of war under the occupation of the Japanese, and completed in 1943.

Visit the well-maintained cemeteries containing the graves of an estimated seven thousand allied soldiers (although up to 80,000 Asian laborers from Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore, Malaysia etc, also lost their lives whilst building the bridge and constructing the notorious ‘death railway’).

After lunch continue to the Tiger Temple, with its own very speciel history: Some years back this Temple recieved a Tiger Cub. The mother had been shot.

Pha Luang Ta Bua Temple soon began to gain a reputation as a tiger sanctuary and it wasn't long before villagers presented the abbot with two more cubs. Soon after, the monks discovered that some saw the temple's sanctuary as a business opportunity. One morning Muslim hunters arrived with three cubs. They told Acharn Phoosit they were planning to sell the animals in Bangkok and wanted the temple to look after them for a month while they set up the deal.

“I refused,” the abbot says sternly. “I said, ‘If you want us to look after them you must give them to us freely.'”

Continue by train on the death railway to Wang Poe station for lunch at a local restaurant. Continue the trip to take a long tail boat on the Kwai River, passing unspoiled mountainous jungle scenery.Overnight at River Kwai Jungle.
